March 14th 2019 was not an ordinary day at school for some of us. Thanks to Roger Vallée, we had special guests during a “Section Européenne 3ème” class. We met two open-minded, curious, enthusiastic and generous young men with a real sense of humour. At first, we were impressed because they were so tall: 1,98 m and 1,95 m! They shared their passion for sport and spoke about their lives, their countries, the places they had been to, etc. It was so interesting to listen to these two talented and cool guys. We asked them questions in English and in Spanish as they didn’t speak French. They answered in a very friendly way and we laughed a lot about stereotypes: walking in the street with a “baguette”, enjoying cheese so much, etc. Both sounded crazy about French cuisine and desserts in particular (“mousse au chocolat” seemed a big winner!).

After lunch at school with some teachers, our two guests, Steven and Arturo, had to go back to Saint Nazaire to train as usual since they are both SNVBA (Saint Nazaire Volley Ball Atlantique) players, a famous professional volleyball team. On March 16th, they played against Fréjus and won 3 sets to 1. Great!

Soon, Steven will go back home to Canada and Arturo to Puerto-Rico to spend time with their families and friends. We wish them all the best.
